Famous Strike at Ipoh Wild Style Hip Hop Dance Competition 2009

Famous Strike is back to competition! The last competition that Famous Strike joined was the Echo Park final on 31 May 2009.

However, this time, dancers involved AD, Eric, Nic, Yvonne and Von. Prepared the routine for only 2 weeks, Famous Strike was ready to roll.

They went to Ipoh on Friday midnight and once they reached Motion Master Studio (as-per-date still owned by AD), they had one-hour rehearsal in his studio. They overnight at AD & Eric's house in Ipoh.

The event started at about 7.30pm with Solo category. Around 9pm, it was Famous Strike's turn. At about 10pm, result was about to announce. There were total of 16 teams from KL, Penang and Ipoh, making Famous Strike shaking as they felt they would not be in Top 3.

When the emcee announced, Famous Strike jumped for glory. They ran to the stage, looking so excited and unbelievable. After they got their trophy, they hugged for happiness and joy.

Traxx FM roadshow at Sunway Pyramid

Street Nation was being invited to heat up the event with our performance at Sunway Pyramid Orange entrance (outdoor). We managed to give out free vouchers for audience to try out classes at Street Nation Dance Studio. There were total of 2 segments.

Bobby had also become the judge to decide who is the winner for a dancing game.

Maxis iPhone 3GS Flash Mob at KLCC

Organizer gathered more than 100 dancers to create a theme called Flash Mob. The concept is dancers are not allowed to dress too dancer-appealed. They had to dress like a normal shopper who are shopping at KLCC. They had to act like an audience watching the performance. The performance started with Floor Fever dancing on the round stage, followed by a team consisted around 20+ dancers. When the song jumped into the second song, another team joined in and so on.

Involved Street Nation dancers including Bobby, Kim, AD, Hannsen, Seven, Von, and other Street Nation buddies such as Raymond, Chris, Selena, Ting Dong and Lemon.

Only 1/4 of the total dancers. Haha~

AiFM 20th Mega Concert at Sunway Lagoon

AiFM 20th Mega Concert held at Sunway Lagoon amphitheater. The concept of the whole concert was the era of earth. From caveman to traditional chinese costume, to 60s, 90s and then 21st century. Street Nation was involved in the 21st century costume where they were dressed into Punk style with black lipstick to symbolize the "in" youngsters nowadays.

Being mistaken as "Hit Hot" dancers, including, AD, Eric, Nic, Ting Dong, Ayumi and Seven for the first segment of Changes Of Era, Von for the last segment together with AD, Eric, Nic and Ayumi.

Street Nation was invited to an appreciation party at a western restaurant in Subang Jaya.

Battle Of The Year 2009 ASIA Live in Singapore

Battle of The Year 2009 Asia Live in Singapore. They took an early flight at 6.25am to fly to Singapore from LCCT to Changi Airport. Upon arrival, they took SMRT to look for the hostel. They were supposed to get down at Tanah Merah but didn't and the train moved back to Changi Airport. *SWEAT*

After they checked in the hostel, they went to City Hall Peninsula Mall to look for Dickies. Then moved to Pasir Ris for the BOTY event. Event was supposed to start at 3pm, but audience was released into the hall at 3.30pm.

Event started around 4.30pm. Kickstarted with judges showcase from BBoy Poe One, BBoy Crazy and BBoy Born. Showcase started with Thailand 99 Flava. Followed by China, Laos Laobangfive, Malaysia Giller Battle Crew, Vietnam Big Toe, Singapore Radikal Forze, Taiwan Formosa, Korea Gamblerz and Japan All Area Crew.

There were performances such as freestyle footballers, Red Roses, Yoyo, new skool, belly dancing, etc. Special performance by GoGo Brothers from Japan!!!

Before the MC announced the top 4, there was a Shine Award ceremony giving out awards to the event organizers and the people behind the event.

MC announced that Gamblerz would be battling Formosa, while All Area would be battling Big Toe. Gamblerz crashed several of times but due to biting from Formosa crew, Gamblerz moved to Top 2 battling with All Area crew while Formosa would be battling Big Toe crew.

Gamblerz condition was not stable and was announced as the second placing of BOTY Asia 2009 while Formosa would be going to BOTY Germany as they were the third placing winning over Big Toe crew.

All Area crew also won the best showcase. BBoy solo battle was won by BBoy King So from Gamblerz.

2/8/2009, workshop day. First workshop was d0ne by BBoy Poe One. He had shared most of his bboy knowledge for more than 15 years. He had mainly taught toprock and educated the participants with its name as most breakers only do toprock but do not know the names. Second workshop was done by BBoy Born. But due to his limitation of english, he had requested for a translator to translate his knowledge. He had taught participants to cypher. Last workshop was done by BBoy Crazy. He had mainly taught skills like back spin, windmill, etc.

Workshop ended around 7pm. They chilled until 8.30pm and left the hall to Changi Airport as their flight was 10.25pm.
