Wacking & Reggae Workshop By Trinity (Dancologist)

Trinity, founder of Dancologist from Johor Bharu who specializes in Hip Hop / New York Hip Hop, New Jazz / Street Jazz, Wacking / Punking, Reagge and Belly Dance, had been proudly invited by Street Nation Dance Studio to conduct a Wacking and Reggae at our studio.

Over 20 participants registered for the workshop! Trinity had firstly taught the foundation of Wacking during the warm up session and proceeded to stretching session. She taught a short Wacking choreography and shared her knowledge she learnt when she was trained in overseas like Los Angeles, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.

After half an hour break, Reggae workshop started. The workshop was also started with foundation, warm up and then choreography.

Trinity had also shared the knowledge she had learnt from overseas with the participants so that they got the actual picture of Reggae dance.

Mr Katoon Popping Workshop

After winning Tinge Competition, Mr Katoon (Kelvin) rushed to Street Nation Dance Studio (SUNWAY) for Popping workshop. Dancers from different states registered for the workshop such as dancers from Kuching, Klang, etc!

Workshop was held for 2 hours. Mr Katoon had specifically taught the participants basic of Popping and how to execute the moves in freestyle.

Katoon Network and Famous Strike at TINGE Hip Hop Dance Competition 2009

Tinge Hip Hop Dance Competition 2009 was organized by Spritzer and held at Times Square. Bobby Tan was one of the judges as well as Ikuyo and Trinity (Dancecologist).

Famous Strike had added in 2 new members – Kim and AD that made up of 6 members a team. Von was unable to participate because she had a final exam paper to sit. Their practice time was unstable as most of the team members were busy with own work.

Famous Strike did not win in the competition. They had over fatigue themselves until they did not enjoy on stage. It is a good experience for them to learn.

But in the other hand, part of Street Nation dancers, Kelvin and Alex who formed the Katoon Network had proudly won Champion in the competition. Their brilliant animation routines had greatly impressed and thrilled the judges!!!

Famous Strike at Johor Hip Hop Open 2009

Famous Strike traveled from KL to JB to compete for Johor Hip Hop Open 2009 located in Danga City Mall. They had obtained experience and mistakes from the previous competition and leveled up as a stronger team.

Famous Strike was one of the two teams who came from KL besides Hot Flow (Raydio Dance Academy). There were over 10 teams who competed but only 4 teams would be selected to enter final.

Respective judges included Ikuyo Ken (KL), Wan Smoof (Singapore) from Style From Beyond and a female athelete, had selected Twister Random, Move, Twister Monash and Famous Strike as the Top 4. They would have to perform a routine for the last time before announcing the result.

Judges had decided to let audience decide who would be crowned as The Most Popular Team. Famous Strike, with the support from various supporters was being crowned as The Most Popular Team. Famous Strike was also crowned as the Second Runner-up while Twister Random was the Champion, Move as the First runner-up and Twister Monash as the Third Runner-up.

Famous Strike at Echo Park “Power Beat In The House” Dance Competition 2009 (Heat)

Famous Strike, consists of Nic, Eric, Yvonne, Ayumi and Von had formed as a crew for a week before the competition.

There were over 14 teams who competed under the category of Open Category. Famous Strike had performed a New Skool routine that consisted breaking mainly choreographed by Nic Chin for the competition. Respective judges Nikki, Dennis and Nick Ng had selected 8 teams to enter Final on 31 May 2009. The eight teams were included Floor Fever, Krazeekru, Famous Strike, Street Wreckerz, Wakaka Crew, Project Elementz, Rokustep and Mustang Crew.

Famous Strike was the third highest among the eight teams. It was a good beginning for Famous Strike because the team was only one-week old.
