R16 Malaysia 2010 Audition

R16 Malaysia 2010, organized by Korea Sparkling with GFW, consulted by Bobby Tan. Had successfully gathered more than 15 crews with 8 bboys in a crew at Times Square LG Concourse level.

All the crews had to perform a 3 minute showcase and judge would select the top 8 crews for battle. First time ever, all the Famous Crew members managed to gather everyone to compete: Bobby, Fido, AD, FamousOne, OneDay Dion, Ric, Kim and Clipz.

Top 8 battles for Famous Crew was against Project Elementz. They took over the battle and moved on to Top 4, against Wakaka Fever. They didn't make it to represent Malaysia to battle in R16 South East Asia because they lost in the battle. According to judges, they missed the routines. But it is a good experience for Famous Crew to move on as a better crew next time. Famous Crew is coming...

Impression Cup 2010

Impression Cup 2010 organized by Exquisite Impression and handled by 36 Carat, supported by Kementerian Malaysia!

The audition took place at Central Market on 4 April 2010. As the date was too rush, Famous Crew managed to gather Ric, AD, FamousOne, Zack and Kim to represent Famous Crew for the audition. The audition had more than 16 crews and judges had to select the Top 8 crews to move on to the final. 

They took over the first battle with Topgangz but lost the second battle to Cypherz Kingz although it was a tie at first. But emcee immediately announced both of the crews would make it to the final. They battled for the last move among Kid Inn (CK) and Kim (FMC).

The final battle took place at 1Utama Rainforest with a stage specially built for this final battle. All the top 8 crews had to do a short opening freestyle. Famous Crew, with OneDay Dion, Clipz, Kim, Ric and Fido, first battle was against South Side Crew from Johor and successfully moved on to Top 4. However, they didn't win the battle with Giller Battle Crew. They crowned 2nd Runner-up after winning the battle over Under Age Killerz.

Sunway Lagoon Performance

One night when everyone was in the studio, the organizer of the event suddenly came in and wanted a group of dancers of 8 pax. We discussed for a moment with the organizer and it was a deal. The show was one day after the discussion. 

It was organized on the surf beach of Sunway Lagoon. The event was for Danone. They had members from overseas such as Singapore, Australia, etc.

The show was simple, fast and quick. We did the opening of their dinner night. While waiting for the cheque, we chilled by the beach with photo session!

Muar International BBoy 3 on 3 Battle

DATE: 20 March 2010 & 21 March 2010

VENUE: SKJC Chong Hwa 2A & Jalan Sayang

There were over 30 crews took part in the battle! But only 16 teams were selected to be in the final on Sunday. International judges were invited to judge the battles: BBoy Gonza (Thailand), BBoy Katsu (Japan) and BBoy Profo Won (USA). There were also crews from overseas such as Halley Crew from Vietnam and Radikal Forze from Singapore! Also BBoy Raigo and BBoy Hiro from Japan!

The final battle on Sunday was between Radikal Forze and 36 Carat. Radikal Forze once again the champion of bboy battle in Malaysia! Famous Crew had split into 2 teams and both each lost to BBoy Raigo, BBoy Hiro and BBoy Lil V6, as well as 36 Carat.

Good job and well done to Rhythm Yard who had organized such a big and international event in Malaysia.

What is R16?

'R' stands for Respect. R16 and Urban Arts Festivals was created in 2007 by the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to support grassroots youth culture such as Hip Hop and BBoy.

Since 2007, the four-day event has attracted more than 300 artists, musicians, dancers and promoters from all over the world to South Korea.

Through R16, these grassroots street culture has become a mainstream trend and has attracted many youths to take up Hip Hop and BBoying as a healthy and energetic sports and hobby.

This event is created and designed by celebrated professionals in the design community.
